Curatorial analysis

Fire and gravity determine the order of this glass stele, where glass ceases to be a mere container to establish itself as a self-sufficient body. The structure is organized through a calculated asymmetry: a dense scarlet column rises along the right side as a buttress, while the left flank and center are articulated through luminous amber fields and suspended horizontal bands. This counterpoint between the compact weight of the red and the weightlessness of the transparent sectors generates an ascending vertical tension that firmly anchors the piece.

Inside the fused slab, events unfold on a microscopic and tactile scale. Small bubbles trapped during the thermal process bear witness to the heat, modulating the passage of light with an internal glow that shifts according to the viewer's angle. Resting upon the golden and vermilion planes are horizontal bars of opaque black and minute specks of turquoise blue. These dark accents introduce a forceful, almost calligraphic graphic pause, checking the chromatic dispersion and endowing the overlapping layers with a three-dimensional depth that exceeds the physical thickness of the plate.

Toward the central axis, the junctions seem to constrict and expand in a rhythm reminiscent of a spine or a deliberate organic flow. The sculpture explores the paradox of glass, where its solid state coexists with the liquid memory of incandescent material. Seen against the light, the boundary between matter and shadow dissolves, projecting warm tones into its environment that transform the surrounding space. Entitled Alma (Soul), the work proposes an allegory of the intangible, embodying that which cannot be touched yet becomes visible through transparency, the emotive density of fire, and the permanence of filtered light.
