Curatorial analysis

The volume defines itself through the light that traverses it rather than by the shadow it casts in space. Resolved in a resin block of extraordinary clarity, the torso foregoes head and limbs to concentrate all its sculptural potency within the architecture of the female trunk. The outer surface, polished to achieve a glassy and continuous smoothness, encloses a complex core of microscopic fractures, bubbles, and internal tensions that replicate the behavior of frozen water on the verge of yielding. It does not function as an airtight body, but as a sculptural lens that absorbs the surrounding light and returns it fractured into subtle silver glints and smoky veils.

A slight torsion along the spinal axis articulates the rhythm of the entire ensemble. The diagonal cut of the neck and the clean truncation of the right shoulder direct the eye toward the rising curve of the hip, where the mass appears to settle with greater tactile density. One recognizes here the silhouette of the classical torso, yet stripped of the secular weight of marble or the opacity of bronze; anatomical firmness becomes a paradox when materialized in a substance that simulates thermal fragility. The breasts, belly, and pelvis are not delineated by dividing contours, but by variations in the resin's thickness, which modulate transparency and generate areas of spectral shadow within the deepest recesses of the form.

The decisive counterpoint occurs at the support. Below, a plinth of ferrous, rigid, and oxidized appearance anchors the figure in an irrevocable earthly gravity that clashes against the almost aerial lightness of the translucent body. This oxidized base reveals the static character of raw matter against the fluid illusion that crowns the piece. The figure remains suspended in poetic stillness: it resembles a vestige preserved from time, an organic block captured at the exact moment of its crystallization, hovering between the permanence of sculpture and the imminence of evaporation.
