Curatorial analysis

A strict vertical axis organizes the scale of this piece, whose height of over five feet imposes a sequential reading, akin to a musical score or an architectural stele. Across an elongated support, wood stratifies into defined geometric volumes that project toward the viewer through relief. This is not a flat pictorial plane, but a construction where each chromatic field brings physical weight and precise shadow lines along the overlapping edges.

The chromatic sequence operates through deliberate contrasts that alternate between temperatures and densities. The deep green and vivid red of the upper section yield to the horizontal lightness of the turquoise, which stabilizes the start of the journey. Toward the center and the base, the progression through radiant orange, yellow, and dense purple modulates the structure's optical energy, finally anchoring the gaze upon a lower crimson block that functions as a visual pedestal and reinforces the overall groundedness. Each module houses secondary subdivisions, such as inset rectangles and small attached blocks, multiplying relative depths.

Amid these robust volumes, slender linear rods and subtle details emerge, such as a sinuous line incised onto a small lower bluish segment. These pale lines not only articulate the transitions between contrasting color fields, but also interrupt the rigidity of the right angle with a delicate, sharp tension. The play of light across edges and projections casts shadows that subtly shift with the viewer's vantage point, lending the geometry an unmistakable organic and constructive quality.
