Curatorial analysis

Two chromatic monoliths in absolute repose, an emerald green on the left and an ultramarine blue on the right, flank a central column where color breaks down into a microscopic pulse. Despite its intimate dimensions of barely eighteen by thirteen centimeters, the piece dispenses with all timidity: it imposes a rigorous tension between the silence of the smooth planes and the stroboscopic vibration of its core.

That intermediate channel is divided into three narrow vertical strips, each crosshatched by an incessant succession of horizontal lines and blocks. There is no conventional continuous gradation; what unfolds is a metric permutation. Pale yellow, magenta, vermilion, violet, and brownish or green tones alternate as background and line. In some sectors, a yellow line cuts through the blue; further down, carmine pulses against cyan, generating a phenomenon of retinal persistence in which the physical edges of the stripes seem to dissolve into a visual hum.

The surface reveals a mixed media executed with surgical precision, where crisp borders and the uniform opacity of the pigments eliminate any trace of manual gesture. This deliberate impersonality aligns the work with the logic of a diagram or a serial score, where every millimeter answers to strict visual calculation. Light bounces flatly, without shadows or incidental textures to distract from the pure interplay between warm and cool tones.

Looking at this small visual artifact, the viewer oscillates between the protective stability of the flanks and the dizzying dynamism of the center. The piece operates as a modulator of contained energy, demonstrating that miniature scale does not diminish the spatial impact of geometry when color is organized as pure vibrational frequency.
