Curatorial analysis
Nine rigorously drawn compartments compose a grid where the human body abandons ordinary anatomy to become a living ideogram. In this one-meter-square format, each cell shelters an isolated figure curling, knotting, or suspending itself in a state of absolute concentration. The board-like structure imposes a strict, finely calibrated binary rhythm, alternating the graphic sobriety of labyrinthine grounds with the expansive warmth of fiery zones, producing a harmonious visual pulse that traverses the entire surface.
This alternation governs the background and determines its material weight. On one hand, areas of dense darkness unfold, executed in a low-relief labyrinthine texture whose meandering tracery evokes organic bark, archaic friezes, or carved ceremonial filigree. In stark contrast, the luminous squares combine solar yellows, toasted ochres, and vermilion reds that appear to radiate a latent heat from the underlying layers of the substrate. Suspended between both atmospheres, the figures possess an almost sculptural volume; imbued with the warm hue of amber or polished wood, they are defined by dark, fluid lines that thicken limbs and articulate torsos of extreme elasticity.
By stripping the figures of recognizable features and crowning them with sightless spheres, the rendering dissolves personal anecdote to focus on purely symbolic anatomy. The postures move naturally between the embryonic, the botanical, and the tantric, conceiving the practice not as a gymnastic display, but as a seminal gathering inward where bodily energy becomes self-sustaining. The subtle crimson glyphs and ideograms accompanying certain figures accentuate their character as a codex or hermetic treatise. The work ultimately finds its power in this constant oscillation between the geometric severity of the outer module and the infinite organic flexibility beating at its core.
