Curatorial analysis

Two bodies condensed into a single vertical column impose an unsettling presence, suspended between child's play and a totem. In De La Serie Arquetipos, one figure rests on the shoulders of another, intertwining limbs until it becomes ambiguous where one ends and the next begins. The hairless heads, with faces as serene and pale as plaster or ivory, gaze in slightly divergent directions: the upper one looks toward the viewer with a slight introspective tilt, while the lower one fixes its eyes with resigned stillness.

That restrained frontality breaks in the limbs. The hands, remarkably oversized with long fingers sketching an almost sculptural contour, neither grasp nor struggle. They float open in the higher figure and rest heavily upon the base of the supporting one, giving the structure a palpable gravitational tension. The legs dangling on either side introduce the composition's sharpest chromatic contrast. Bright vermilion socks, edged with striated cuffs, disrupt the dominant earth, ochre, and black tones that envelop the characters. That same carmine emerges at the collar and waistband, functioning like a vibrant pulse amidst an otherwise silent palette.

Through the serigraphic medium, flat ink layers and subtle veils delineate anatomical planes with a clarity that renounces illusionistic volume. The dark, dense, abstract background does not depict a habitable space, but rather a primordial void pushing the beings into the immediate foreground. We are not witnessing a folkloric scene of children playing piggyback, but rather the formulation of a shared memory. The duality of the figures suggests the weight of lineage, intergenerational transmission, or the coexistence of identities within a single psyche, where the bearer supports not only a body, but the entire consciousness of the other.
