Curatorial analysis

An ovoid glow, suspended within an almost liturgical gloom, concentrates all the visual energy of this square-format canvas. Although the title refers to a raptor, the image avoids zoological description and chooses instead to operate through archetypal synthesis. What appears is the notion of flight, of opening, and of vigilance concentrated in an incandescent core that seems to radiate its own warmth from the upper center of the plane.

The structure relies on a geometric rigor softened by organic curves. A horizon line divides the composition into two complementary hemispheres, where the arms or wings stretched to the sides descend in a gentle slope, connecting the central emanation to the darkened margins. In the lower section, an attenuated reflection of that same luminosity enters into dialogue with two ovoid forms resting upon a tray rendered in perspective. A clear duality governs this scheme: that which ascends and burns stands opposite to that which rests or incubates at the base, setting up a vertical rhythm fluctuating between terrestrial gravity and celestial weightlessness.

The painted matter articulates this distance with remarkable technical refinement. The center radiates through velvety glazes and soft gradations of sfumato, shifting from an incandescent warm white into burnt oranges and earthy ochres. Around it, the atmosphere turns dense, nearly tactile, marked by subtle incisions and scratched traces scoring the dark surface. These calligraphic marks, faintly suggested across the upper quadrant and margins, grant the surface the quality of an ancestral relic or stone slab, as though the vision had been carved onto polished rock.

By placing the viewer before this suspended totem, the painting presents the eagle not as a tangible creature, but as a solar principle and a watchful sentinel. The two basal spheres function simultaneously as primordial eggs, abstracted talons, or eyes gazing from the shadows, closing a visual circuit that eschews anecdote to venture into the realm of cosmic mystery.
