Curatorial analysis

A blaze of morning light dismantles the foliage, turning the forest into a living combustion of yellows, ochres, and carmines. In this dense landscape, there is no open horizon to grant rest to the gaze; the entire space is enclosed by a vertical thicket where brightness does not illuminate forms from the outside, but instead seems to spring from its own internal combustion, bursting from an incandescent core toward the darker edges of the canvas.

The visual rhythm is sustained by the confrontation between two impulses: on one side, a thick tangle of filaments and linear drips descends like resinous lianas, tracing fine veins that slice across the surface from top to bottom and reinforce the verticality of the absent tree trunks. On the other, a stippled, almost powdered mass of pigments carpets the lower plane with touches of mauve, moss green, and coral, evoking a humid undergrowth that absorbs and multiplies the thermal radiation of the ground.

The epoxy acrylic technique grants the painting a vitreous and sedimented depth, allowing ultra-transparent glazes to coexist with textures suspended within the medium. The resin encapsulates color in successive strata that recreate the density of the air on a sweltering morning, where each vegetative thread seems frozen at the exact moment of its dripping. Light acts as a material force rather than a purely optical one, bouncing between chemical layers with a sheen that delivers to the eye the physical sensation of haze and glare.

The scene shuns conventional botanical documentation to capture an immediate sensory experience linked to the oppressive heat and biological eruption of the dry season. Vegetation ceases to be a scenic backdrop and becomes an engulfing mass, where the burning summer is felt as an overwhelming presence that dissolves the contours of the plant world into pure atmospheric vibration.
