Curatorial analysis

A central incandescence punctures the botanical gloom, instantly seizing the gaze. Before discerning leaves or branches, the painting is experienced as a deflagration of contained light: a core of solar yellows and veiled whites radiating heat outward, pushing the boundaries of the foliage into an almost volcanic atmosphere. The vegetation does not present itself in its customary green serenity, but transfigured into a feverish density of ochres, deep carmines, and violet flashes that spill across the hundred by one hundred and sixty-five centimeter expanse.

The handling of the epoxy acrylic is decisive in achieving this immersive sensation. The resin suspends pigments across successive transparent strata, imbuing the surface with an optical depth that simulates the dense, vitrified humidity of the rainforest. Across this fiery ground emerge, like tactile phantoms, the fenestrated silhouettes of monsteras, captured through transfers and fragmented textures. Slicing through this organic mass, slender golden filaments cascade in spontaneous marks from the upper edge, evoking aerial roots or vines swaying with nervous vertical rhythm, breaking the weight of the horizontal washes.

This tension between the enclosure of the intricate thicket and the luminous aperture of the clearing establishes an oscillating visual journey. The flanks, laden with deep purple shadows and heavy garnets, bracket the frame to compress the viewer before releasing them into the radiant vortex at the center. The work sidesteps the descriptive recording of the tropical landscape to construct a primordial territory where the jungle ceases to be mere botanical scenery, becoming instead an elemental force, scorching and alive, capable of burning without being consumed.
