Curatorial analysis

An incandescent reverberation dominates the center of the canvas, where cadmium yellow and pure orange burst with the force of a contained blaze. The space opens like a vegetal threshold: a dense canopy of garnet reds, ochres, and purples frames an almost blinding clarity that blurs the boundary between the solar glare of a woodland clearing and a purely atmospheric combustion. In the upper register, subtle dark filaments hang like lianas suspended in the void, fracturing the chromatic mass with an airy, fragile calligraphy.

Toward the base, a winding, pale path marks the only explicit vector of depth, guiding the gaze through a dense thicket. It is precisely within these lower flanks that the matter acquires a vibrant pulse: small stippled touches of violet, faded turquoise, and moss green recreate the wild scattering of santalucías, those diminutive flowers that traditionally carpet road edges. This mantle of broken, granular pigment sharply contrasts with the vaporous softness of the background, generating a tactile tension between the tangible immediacy of the undergrowth and the luminous abyss toward which the eye converges.

The use of epoxy acrylic grants the one-and-a-half-meter square surface a distinctive crystalline depth. The resin traps pigments in overlapping strata, allowing ambient light not merely to bounce off the painting but seemingly to emanate from its internal layers, intensifying the scorching warmth of the vermilions. What might initially read as an idyllic understory landscape transmutes into an immersive experience of heat, memory, and veiled matter, where foliage dissolves into a vision suspended in its own interior combustion.
