Curatorial analysis

A tide of blue petals overtakes the surface from the bottom and moves upward across the canvas, conquering space with the force of an uncontainable natural phenomenon. In this large format, over a meter and a half in height, the eye is immediately submerged in a botanical swarm that defies traditional perspective. There is no horizon line or vanishing point to organize the picture plane, but rather a living mass that pulses through infinite shifts of cobalt, cerulean, and Prussian blue.

The visual dialogue is articulated through a pronounced structural contrast. In the lower two thirds, pigment gathers through short, thick, direct strokes, shaping blossoms that overlap until they feel almost tactile. As they ascend, these forms lose density and begin to scatter like windblown seeds or suspended sparks. It is there that the painting reveals its counterpoint, a neutral ground of umber, ochre, and ash tones, rendered with vertical washes and drippings that fall like a veil of rain or a rock face weathered by the elements.

This tension between the fullness of the foliage and the fluidity of the background destabilizes a purely landscape-driven reading. The verticality of the upper drippings descends to meet the upward thrust of the stems, creating an interplay of forces that sustains the entire plane in a dynamic balance. Peeking through the gaps between flowers are glimmers of sienna and deep shadows, granting the blue carpet an internal luminous resonance, as though the corollas held their own source of light.

Rather than describing an actual stretch of field, this path suggests a passage toward dematerialization. The flower ceases to be a decorative motif and turns into a rhythmic particle, a chromatic pulse moving from exuberant burst to solitary vibration, immersing the viewer in an experience where botany merges into abstraction.
