Curatorial analysis

A resonant cobalt blue sustains the totemic presence of this figure, elevated upon an iron framework that barely grazes its flanks. The slender silhouette, featuring a bifurcated head reminiscent of a winged headdress or a crescent moon, immediately evokes an archaic idol suspended between the anthropomorphic and the ceremonial. Its frontal stance holds an unshakeable stillness that unfolds as natural light pierces through the vitreous body, uncovering an internal cartography of varying densities, minuscule air bubbles, and mineral filaments trapped in the fusion.

On the chest, or perhaps at the very core of the belly, a dark spiral made of granular frit turns upon itself in a concentric whirlwind. This graphic vortex contrasts sharply with the limb crossing the torso: a solitary arm in an earthy tone and porous texture, finished with an open hand of slender fingers that seems to contain or safeguard that revolving core. Below, a crescent arc and a vertical line descending toward the base synthesize with great visual economy the pelvic cleft and the lower axis. The asymmetry of the arm disrupts the monolith's rigidity, instilling a gesture of intimate, almost protective care.

Kiln-fused glass operates here as a tangible metaphor for the fragility evoked by the title. The glass embodies both the permanence of a talisman and the imminence of fracture, serving as a reminder that the endurance of any spell relies on a delicate truce between dense matter and void. The figure offers itself as a vessel of contained mystery, where profound color absorbs the gaze and returns it laden with suspended silence, as though any undue contact might shatter the truth it keeps guard over.
