Curatorial analysis

The solar disc in the upper left quadrant does not function as a passive symbol, but as a luminous and gravitational engine. Bisected by orthogonal planes and pierced by a sharp linear incision, this yellow circle radiates an intensity that dismantles the surrounding space. The apparent serenity of its curvature contrasts immediately with the textural violence bursting at the core of the canvas, where pure form yields to a vortex of impastos, glazes, and scraped layers.

The large-scale surface (150 × 150 cm) operates under a continuous tension between architectural order and organic entropy. Behind and beneath the gestural whirlwind, a scaffolding of flat fields in cool greys, off-whites, and neutral earths anchors the structure of the painting. This rectilinear foundation prevents the composition from dispersing; it acts as a sober container that heightens the material collision. Across it, the brushwork and palette knife unfold rapidly: ridges of white pigment, fractured fragments, and tiny incandescent splatters of orange and green that suggest an ongoing combustion.

Toward the right edge, the expansive force extends into earthy wings and intermittent yellow bands that read as the rhythmic echo of the primary star. Chirinos conceives of summer not as an idyllic postcard, but as a physical experience of blinding glare, scorching heat, and optical fragmentation. Light does not merely wash over forms, it pierces and disintegrates them into an amalgam of faceted planes. It is a canvas of immense breathing room and power, in which geometric restraint and gestural drive negotiate a vibrant balance, captured at the exact moment light converts matter into pure visible energy.
