Curatorial analysis

A spectral architecture anchors the canvas before living matter decides to overflow it. In Equilibrio Biológico, the surface is organized around broad geometric planes in tones of pearl gray, faint lavender, and veiled whites, evoking beams of overhead light or translucent screens. This atmosphere of apparent rational order serves as a luminous scaffolding where the severity of vertical and oblique lines sets the stage for a far more organic and convulsive drive.

Across the center of the canvas bursts a bridge of microstructures. Chirinos concentrates a graphic density here where threadlike mark-makings, small cell-like clusters resembling suspended organisms, and black drips falling vertically like exposed vertebrae or roots converge. This tangle is neither accidental nor chaotic; it answers to a millimeter-precise tension between dispersion and containment. Minute chromatic notes (sparks of pure orange, ultramarine blues, and touches of vermilion) punctuate the monochrome mass, acting as cellular energy cores that reactivate the eye and disrupt the coolness of the grays.

Toward the base and flanks, the paint gains weight and opacity through dark impastos and sweeping brushstrokes that anchor the scene, while at the upper edge the air lightens through glazes that allow the ground to breathe. The surface constantly debates its own identity: it reads simultaneously as a microscopic geological cross-section and as an urban landscape disassembled by natural forces. The equilibrium proclaimed by the title does not suggest a static stillness, but rather an active truce between structural solidity and the unpredictable pulse of material life.
