Curatorial analysis

The canvas organizes itself around a severe perimeter grid that unravels as it advances toward the center. Large orthogonal planes in slate, plaster white, and atmospheric greys establish a restrained, almost architectural order along the edges of the linen. However, this yearning for stability soon yields to a turbulent nucleus where the pictorial matter fractures into nervous calligraphies, scrapings, and overlapping angular planes, generating an immediate visual vibration.

The light traveling across the surface is predominantly cold and ash-toned, filtered through lilac and pale blue glazes that soften the weight of the dark masses. Against this subdued neutrality, small bursts of color break through: precise nodes of fiery orange, vermilion, and cobalt blue that act as points of maximum optical tension. Chirinos does not employ these accents decoratively, but rather to disrupt the calm of the greys and introduce unexpected planes of depth. The interplay between flat, opaque applications and fields of delicate linear marks reveals a process wherein geometric calculation continuously coexists with the impulse of an uninhibited gesture.

Although the title points toward a natural environment, what unfolds before the viewer is not a descriptive landscape, but its internal pulse and possible deconstruction. The piece evokes the friction between built structure and elemental chaos, as though tectonic forces or the memory of a topography had been trapped within a fractured map. In this continuous oscillation between architectural plane and organic drive, the painting maintains an electrifying tension, where order never completely prevails and disorder never fully exceeds the confines of the frame.
