Curatorial analysis

A dense block of vegetation and mist seems to force its way through a silvery atmosphere. On this canvas measuring one and a half meters on each side, space does not function as a compliant panoramic vista, but as a tactile breakthrough where organic growth and painterly matter wage a constant battle for visibility.

The armature of the painting gathers along a vertical central axis that ascends like a broken trunk or stem, unraveling toward the flanks into an intricate mesh of branches, leaves, and white filaments. To the left, a vertical mass of dense, greenish shadows establishes a rhythmic anchor, while the right flank dissolves into a luminous, almost ethereal plain. This asymmetry produces a frontal tension: the gaze oscillates between the shadowy thickness of the foliage and the vaporous silence of the pale background.

Across a palette strictly governed by ash gray, chalky white, and graphite, tiny bursts of warmth transform the entire climate of the canvas. Minute flecks of vermilion, burnt orange, violet, and olive green surface from the underlying layers, resembling wild berries or embers smoldering beneath fallen leaves. The generous impasto, laid down with a palette knife and dry strokes, coexists with vertical drips and fluid washes, granting the surface an uneven relief where light glides discontinuously.

Along the right edge, the typographic presence of the numbers «20708207» disrupts the landscape illusion. That serial inscription, foreign to the biological chaos at the center, introduces a conceptual distance that redefines the painting: we are not merely before the poetic recreation of a forest, but in front of an archived fragment, a swath of territory captured and cataloged by contemporary memory.
