Curatorial analysis

A filamentous specter seems to rise from the background like a condensation of smoke or bone tissue. Off-center toward the right, a weightless figure hints at a spine, a barely suggested skull, and limbs dissolving into tatters of matter. Beside it, a smaller presence echoes this upward movement, suspended within a horizonless space where notions of gravity and scale are undone by light.

The pictorial space is organized through tensions between the density of carbon black and the radiance of an incandescent amber. Broad, modulated bands, applied as translucent oblique sweeps, build an atmosphere of successive glazes. Over this dark, tectonic field, the artist intervenes with incisions and minimal linear strokes: calligraphic loops reminiscent of nerve filaments, automatic writing, and scrapings that strip away pigment layers to expose the underlying white. It establishes a rigorous counterpoint between opaque mass and the finest, most liquid pulse of matter.

Glimpses of deep vermilion and petroleum blue emerging along the margins introduce a contained, almost geological chromatic vibration, keeping the canvas from settling into simple monochrome. The entire surface breathes through transparencies in which light does not arrive from an outside source, but rather from the literal emptying of the ground itself.

Vida del Alma proposes an X-ray of the intangible. Rather than delineating a recognizable figure, the canvas registers the state in which a consciousness seeks to take physical form among shadows of sediment, capturing that fleeting moment when thought abandons inertia to become living presence.
