Curatorial analysis

The panoramic format, spanning over two meters in width, immediately suggests a horizontal reading that the material presence paradoxically denies. Instead of a tranquil vanishing line, the surface erupts in continuous upward momentum. Filaments, stalks, and shards of color climb from the bottom edge to pierce the serenity of the upper third, where a dense expanse of cerulean and turquoise blues sustains the luminous morning glow invoked by the title.

Beneath that vibrant blue lies a fragmented geometry. The base of the painting is built from faceted planes reminiscent of stained glass or the crackle of fired enamel. Within these chromatic cells, citrus yellows, bright greens, and sudden sparks of carmine coexist, igniting the support from within. This shattered, almost geological grid provides a meticulous internal order, as if vegetation or foliage had been refracted into crystals of light before emerging.

A visceral layer of black pigment erupts across this crystalline structure. The dark gesture does not delineate contours: it falls, climbs, and splatters in a violent calligraphy of filaments and suspended droplets. These black nodes and ramifications operate like a botanical lattice in silhouette, cutting against the background glare. The friction between the translucent clarity of the color and the opaque density of the black creates an intense spatial tension, wherein the foreground threatens to dissolve the entire scene.

The work positions the viewer before a nature that refuses to settle into a docile landscape. A raw, electrical vibration pulses through it, capturing the exact second when dawn light tears through nighttime shadows across a dense thicket or reedbed. Rather than offering a passive contemplation of daybreak, the canvas stages a kinetic event in which physical matter celebrates its own luminous combustion.
