Curatorial analysis

A biological-like torsion breaks the myth of impossible architecture. The structure does not rise straight toward the sky; it twists, undulates, and expands in overlapping rings that defy the weight of fictitious stone. With a bold black outline evoking stained glass or graphic illustration, each segment of the tower is enclosed in vibrant color fields, where the bluish lilacs of the columns clash against the sunny yellows of the walls and the terracotta tones of the arches.

To the left, an erupting volcano pours a cascade of incandescent lava down a shadowy slope. This telluric presence, joined by the orange smoke drifting across the crimson background, places the edifice within a landscape of imminent cataclysm or primordial creation. Yet there is no ruin in the tower: its turquoise steps unfold impeccably toward the heights, escorted by a solitary lamppost on the first landing, the sole element lending human scale to this dizzying labyrinth.

The visual rhythm stems from this spatial paradox. Perspective warps alongside the circular balconies, forcing the viewer's gaze upward in an ascending vortex that seems to spin on its own axis. The density of the acrylic, applied with deliberate opacity and devoid of atmospheric glazing, sharpens the thermal clash between the suffocating sky and the festive solidity of the monument.

The scene reconfigures the biblical tale of confusion into a celebration of overflowing plastic form. Stripped of the pessimism or ruins that Western tradition ascribed to the monument, this Babel stands victorious amidst the fire, transformed into a playful and resilient artifact whose sheer excess justifies its ascent.
