Curatorial analysis

A resounding frame of scarlet and carmine red encloses the scene, operating not merely as chromatic containment, but as a theatrical threshold. From this dense, monochrome ground emerges a suspended city, where architecture fragments into vertical and horizontal rhythms. At the heart of the canvas, a curved bridge traverses the space with structural delicacy, serving as a figurative anchor against the abstract boiling that surrounds it.

Above the viaduct, built forms crowd together through a dense layering of planes. Blocks of luminous yellows, turquoises, ochres, and earthy whites suggest facades, terraces, and roofs that stagger without strict classical perspective, building an almost musical verticality. The application of the medium, dense and worked with palette knife, alternates heavy impastos with scrapings and transparencies, giving this dreamlike settlement a tactile, geological vibration.

Toward the lower section, the solidity of the structure yields to its own reflection. Beneath the bridge's pillars, the water does not act as a faithful mirror, but rather as a dissolving filter where golden lights and cool highlights stretch into vertical drips and strokes that gradually fade into the red tide of the foreground. This imperfect symmetry creates a poetic tension between the permanence of what is built and the transience of what the water washes away.

The bridge is thus read as a passage between two states: the waking reality saturated with urban color and activity in the upper half, and the meditative, almost liquid abyss of the lower zone. Rather than describing a specific landscape, the surface proposes a cartography of memory, a space where chromatic vibration defies the laws of gravity and transforms physical transit into a purely sensory experience.
