Curatorial analysis

A golden reverberation dominates the canvas from above, dissolving the customary contours of rural architecture. This yellow operates as a solar tide that permeates the structures, turning what could be a recognizable village into a vibrant weave of suspended chromatic facets.

The spatial construction is organized through an overlapping of orthogonal and diagonal planes recalling walls, eaves, doors, and aerial wiring. Yet, there is no single vanishing point; the facades fold over one another in a stepped perspective, where the density of the painted matter contrasts with the almost ethereal luminosity of the skies and the reflections below. Intense cobalt blues, purples, and deep reds anchor the composition across the left and lower sections, acting as counterweights to the expansive clarity that commands the upper third.

This tension between structure and dissolution is heightened by the palette knife work. The surface alternates direct impastos with scraped areas, exposing earlier layers and lending the walls the weathered, tactile presence of sun-baked adobe or seasoned wood. A network of white and dark lines, drawn with a sharp edge, intersects the scene like cables, railings, or fissures, quickening the viewer's visual pace through an environment in constant optical friction.

Evening manifests here not as a static hour, but as a phenomenon of luminous transition that fuses the physical presence of the settlement with the atmosphere surrounding it. The village sheds its identity as a closed shelter, revealing itself instead as a permeable body where the glare of tropical twilight completely reorganizes the landscape's visual memory.
