Curatorial analysis

A fiery drive commands the vertical surface, where light seems to emanate not from an exterior source, but from the depths of the matter itself. The use of epoxy acrylic lends the plane a glazed, stratified quality, as if peering through amber or cooling magma. At the upper center burns a golden core of maximum luminosity, surrounded by a dense atmosphere of vermilion and carmine reds that expand toward the edges in an oscillatory rhythm. Fine yellow lines, almost capillary, cross this central flare like electrical discharges or aerial roots suspended in midair.

The vertical format of 150 centimeters organizes a gradual descent in visual temperature. Beneath the warm burst, the space opens into an intermediate ground where greenish yellows and ochres break into sponged textures resembling lichens, mosses, or geological sediments. Here enters the element that lends the piece its title: subtle clusters of purple and mauve emerge along the right flank and lower bands. These violets do not compete in brightness with the fire above; rather, they act as a cool counterweight, a mineral shadow that absorbs the luminous impact and stabilizes the chromatic vertigo.

The contrast between the perimeter edges, almost swallowed by soot-like blacks and dark browns, and the internal clarity generates a powerful impression of a cavern or an incandescent abyss. The image oscillates without resolving between the stellar macrocosm and the biological microcosm. One senses both the weight of earth and the buoyancy of vapor on the very same plane. Sidhartta Mejía suspends the viewer's gaze at that exact threshold where reflection is indistinguishable from combustion, allowing the painting to throb with the strange calm of immutable natural processes.
