Curatorial analysis

Suspended balance and the fracture of the circle govern the encounter with this sculpture. Three annular segments, cut and open, interlock in a vertical torsion that defies the mass of metal. Despite being titled Luna Llena, there is no closed sphere or compact disc here; wholeness is formulated through ellipsis, drawing upon interior voids that the viewer's gaze is compelled to complete in space.

The constructive tension rests on a tripartite dialogue of finishes where light behaves in irreconcilable ways. The upper arc, rendered in pristine white with controlled sheen, levitates with an apparent weightlessness over a deep black lacquered core. That dark segment, dense and absorbent, functions as a tonal articulation before giving way to the lower curvature of mirror-polished metal. Within that reflective section, the surrounding environment fragments and penetrates the volume; solid matter seems to dissolve as it projects the floor, the air, and the observer's own presence.

Each segment halts its trajectory in clean, orthogonal cuts, underscoring the industrial precision of its manufacture. Nevertheless, this technical rigidity dissolves into the organic rhythm of the whole; the rings suggest a perpetual rotation, like gears of a celestial mechanism frozen at its critical point of balance. The structure does not rest heavily, but rather touches the pedestal along a minimal curved surface, concentrating loads in a millimeter-precise feat of counterweights.

By orbiting around the air enclosed between its arms, Luna Llena translates the notion of an astronomical cycle into a purely spatial dialectic. The totality promised in the title resides in the constant interplay between the opacity of white, the mystery of black, and the chameleonic flash of chrome, celebrating the void not as absence, but as the true scaffold of form.
