Curatorial analysis

A night blue of almost liquid density supports the entire scene, dominated by a dreamlike atmosphere where the laws of gravity remain suspended. The protagonist, shown in a hieratic profile with delicately outlined features, advances toward the left upon a light vehicle or an apparatus with diminutive wheels. She does not steer with earthly effort: with the tips of her fingers, she barely grazes a crescent moon, transformed here into a tangible amulet and the compass of her own journey.

Above her head, a headdress is articulated that defies stillness: dark hair serving as a nest for two birds, one with somber plumage and another of a luminous yellow that concentrates the painting's greatest chromatic warmth. From there hangs a subtle string suspending a small carmine quadrangular object, reminiscent of a letter or a miniature talisman. Clinging to her chest, a smaller figure (perhaps a doll, an infantile doubling, or a silent companion) echoes the march with a steady gaze, reinforcing the intimate, playful dimension of the voyage.

Fernández does not seek a polished surface. On the contrary, the oil paint builds up in rugged textures, incisions, and reliefs that grant tactile volume to the surrounding blue and the ochre gleams of the attire. A lower plane in blue-gray establishes a ground level where organic forms resembling gems or floral pods rest, balancing the chromatic weight toward the lower-left base.

The promenade thus resolves as a poetic voyage where the sky is not a distant backdrop, but an inhabitable substance. Between nocturnal mystery and the tenderness of child's play, the scene offers a quiet crossing into realms where memory and personal myth merge without conflict.
