Curatorial analysis

An ultramarine blue feline of dominant proportions crosses the canvas on a tightrope, defying all gravitational laws while carrying a second grey cat on its back. The scene unfolds within an environment of architectural vertigo, where flights of truncated stairs, circular frames, and impossible perspectives evoke a labyrinthine spatiality. Multiple cats of diverse scales and shades (greens, reddish tones, ochres) populate this suspended circuit; some peer out from enclosed openings, while others climb steps leading into the void or twist into nearly elastic postures.

The pictorial space is fragmented by a network of crisp, continuous black outlines reminiscent of stained glass leadwork or graphic poster design. This linear framework cleanly divides fields of flat, vibrant acrylic: intense reds, solar yellows, lilacs, and oranges collide without tonal transitions, producing an atmosphere of luminous stridency. Yet, amidst this chromatic and geometric density, the artist opens oculi and apertures revealing a serene blue sky dotted with cotton-like white clouds, an exterior realm that provides the sole breathing space and contrast against the surrounding scenic tension.

The tightrope serves as the structural axis and a direct metaphor for instability. Everything seems poised on a calculated brink where peril masquerades as acrobatic, circus-like play. The feline protagonists exhibit no panic in their glassy stares; instead, they embody a detached curiosity, focused intently on the next misstep. The work juxtaposes the agility of animal instinct with the artifice of a disorienting architecture, proposing a journey where maintaining balance above the abyss is not a heroic feat, but an ongoing, everyday condition.
