Curatorial analysis

A horizontal thrust divides the canvas into two opposing forces: a vortex of warm light surging from the right and a deep mass of nocturnal blues absorbing the left. Two closely intertwined presences break into this passage. One of them, with sharp features and hair aflame in copper and vermilion, advances with the resolve of the wind; the other, a pale, lunar silhouette with lowered eyelids, seems to hold her or merge into her back like a spectral echo.

The outstretched arms concentrate the full dramatic tension of the painting. The open hands reach for the void with an almost tactile urgency, projecting tapered fingers into an indigo and violet darkness that offers no visible resistance, yet possesses clear density. In this shared trajectory, the body ceases to be a self-contained anatomical volume and turns into a trail. The acrylic is applied here with broad sweeps and dry, brisk strokes that dissolve torso and hair, integrating solar yellows, emerald flashes, and white scrapings that convey the velocity of flight or the disintegration of matter in midair.

This friction between figurative legibility and gestural release sustains the mystery of the scene. We are not witnessing a mere nocturnal flight, but the materialization of a yearning that defies earthly weight. The night does not function as a passive backdrop; rather, it acts as a living abyss that the figures claim as they carve through it, guided by an internal glow that burns most fiercely right at the threshold where skin ends and shadow begins.
