Curatorial analysis

An interrupted circle defies the inertia of weight and the rigidity of metal through a sophisticated play of assembly and tension. The volume does not seek to close in upon itself as a hermetic shape, but rather articulates a central void that acquires as much perceptual density as the framework itself. Alejandro D´Stefano presents here a resounding alternation: a massive arc coated in an electric, deep, and lustrous blue, countered by an upper segment of mirror-polished metal that crowns the curve with cold elegance.

This duality of finishes generates an immediate visual dialectic. The chromed section not only acts as a structural finial but also captures and distorts the surrounding space, absorbing ambient light and returning it broken into crisp gleams. In contrast, the satin blue anchors the gaze through uniform coloration that emphasizes the sharp edges, clean cuts, and geometric solidity of the faceted planes. The relationship between both components simulates a rotational movement halted at the exact right instant, as though the annular segments could slide along their own mechanical tracks.

The flat support at the base sustains a piece of contained scale (fifty-five centimeters in height), yet endowed with latent monumentality. Shadows cast across the inner faces deepen the circular cavity, allowing the trapped air to function as the gravitational axis of the structure. This is not merely a formal abstraction, but a rigorous exercise in balance, where the industrial perfection of the materials yields to an almost choreographic rhythm.

The title, Armonía (Harmony), finds its reason in the reconciliation of these constructive opposites: chromatic mass and metallic reflection, the opening and containment of the circle, the tactile and the optical. The work invites peripheral contemplation wherein each angle discloses new angular junctures, confirming the three-dimensional vocation of a sculpture that converses with architectural precision without relinquishing its sculptural lyricism.
