Curatorial analysis

The weight of the metal disappears at the exact instant the curve takes flight. Constructed from a continuous metal ribbon, this sculpture unfolds in a helical torsion that seems to defy all logic of gravity. Its footing on the pedestal is minimal, barely the ridge of a lower arc that propels the piece upward, compelling the eye to follow an enveloping trajectory that refuses to remain static.

There is an ascending rhythm reminiscent of a calligraphic brushstroke suspended in three dimensions. The volume does not occupy space by displacing it, but by drawing it: the central void is as active as the metal that binds it. By folding over itself into a suspended loop, the outer ring dialogues with a tighter secondary ring, producing an interplay of intersecting orbits where every viewing angle reveals a completely distinct silhouette. The sharp edges of the square profile define boundaries with almost architectural precision, while the flexing of the material projects an illusion of organic elasticity.

The surface introduces a decisive luminous tension. The electric blue, applied with a mirror-gloss enamel, absorbs the surroundings and reflects sharp highlights that fragment the volume in rhythm with the ambient light. In deliberate counterpoint, the inner edges preserve the polished, steel tone of the exposed metal, revealing the constructive soul of the work and generating an involuntary kinetic effect as the viewer moves around it.

Anillo dispenses with the closed perfection of the traditional circle to propose an open circuit in perpetual acceleration. Between the rigor of industrial design and the pulse of kinetic gesture, the form functions as a pause mid-flight, concentrating within its ninety centimeters of height the energy of a movement that seems frozen at its most expansive point.
