Curatorial analysis

A fiery pulse dominates this panoramic format of more than two meters in width, where the surface fractures into a dense tessellation evoking both cellular structures under a microscope and the leaded assembly of a contemporary stained-glass window. The chromatic gradation articulates an ascending temperature: a lower core reverberating in creamy yellows and luminous ambers, shifting into a band of incandescent vermilions and oranges, finally dissolving into deep browns and near-umber earths at the top edge.

From the bottom margin emerges a multitude of grey filaments, dense and vertical like a metallic meadow, growing in a rigorous rhythmic scale. As selected stems escape the basal mass and gain height, their lines curve gently and terminate in small white orbs of contained light, like luminous stamens or nocturnal beacons charting a suspended geography. These tubular rods impose an ascending vector that cuts through and contrasts with the reticular grid of closed polygons.

The execution reveals a precise discipline of acrylic paint, where flat, opaque color planes are contained by continuous dark outlines. Light does not emanate from an external source or atmospheric glazes; it springs from the contiguity and saturation of warm hues, intensified by the dry contrast with graphite and the pure white of the nodes.

Titled after the red supergiant star of the southern sky, the canvas proposes a meditation on stellar heat and living matter. Between cosmic combustion and plant biology, Navarro constructs a landscape oscillating between a horizon in flames and an organism breathing through electrical terminals, offering the viewer a threshold where mineral energy and organic life converge with austere visual elegance.
