Curatorial analysis

A sharp network of power lines crosses the sky, cutting the vibrant blue atmosphere into fragments. This aerial web, sustained by leaning wooden poles and schematic television antennas, immediately imposes an electric, nervous, and almost audible rhythm onto the landscape.

At the base of the scene, the street opens as a clean, angular expanse, resolved in broad white planes and flat tones that hold geometric shadows. On either side, popular dwellings crowd closely together, built from planes of pure color where vermilion red, yellow, and the rusted browns of corrugated tin roofs collide. The structures do not seek traditional architectural stability: they tilt, stack against one another, and defy gravity in an unstable equilibrium held only by the firmness of the black lines defining their borders.

The blue sky contrasts sharply with the simulated coarse texture of the roofs and walls, producing a relentless light characteristic of the urban tropics. The silkscreen takes advantage of stippled and grainy textures to evoke the roughness of weathered wood and worn metal sheets, confronting them with the pristine voids of the foreground plane.

There is an undeniable vitality in this environment born of precariousness and ingenious, spontaneous architecture. Without relying on human figures, the neighborhood vibrates with life through the tangle of connections, dark windows, and construction clutter. The urban space unfolds here not as a cold, planned grid, but as a throbbing organism where crowding converses on equal terms with an expansive, celebratory light.
