Curatorial analysis

An inquisitive gaze governs the frame. From the shadows of a domestic opening, three felines stalk or discover the outside world through the folds of a heavy curtain, establishing a direct confrontation with the viewer. The eye finds no rest in a single focal point: the emerald pupil of the slender cat on the right competes with the two faces peering furtively from the opposite side, while one suspended tail breaks the sill downward and another whips horizontally toward the edge.

The space is articulated through a rigorous chromatic compartmentalization. The wall architecture, resolved as an assemblage of riveted wooden planks or synthetic panels, deploys a grid of acidic yellows, lime greens, pinks, and violets bound by firm dark lines. This flat, luminous vibration contrasts sharply with the depth of the central opening, where cerulean blues and deep purples act as a theatrical box that compresses the action.

At the center, the drapery functions as the canvas's true tactile core. Unlike the smooth surfaces of the surrounding planks, the fabric falls heavy with matter: streams of red and ochre pigment receive constellations of raised turquoise dots, endowing it with an almost organic fleshiness, like bark or pelt suspended from golden rings. Light does not obey a natural source, but rather the intrinsic intensity of each paste, generating an atmosphere where the everyday transmutes into playful enigma.

This oscillation between inside and outside questions the hierarchy of vision. By turning the window into a permeable threshold where animals spy on the spectator with the same suspicion with which they are discovered, the scene dissolves the boundary between watching and being watched, transforming a purely instinctive gesture into a clever reflection on curiosity.
