Curatorial analysis

A tide of golden light floods everything, dissolving any sharp boundary between sky and shore. Across a markedly horizontal format, the oil paint renounces dense impasto to unfold with the fluidity of a wash, allowing pigment to settle into halos, sedimentations, and pooling rings that immediately evoke salty moisture, coastal vapor, and the texture of a wind-swept surface. There are no rigid horizons or solid structures here; the landscape is perceived as an atmospheric condensation where the wet shore and the air share the same amber vibration.

Across this luminous void, four riders advance in a slow caravan from left to right. Their silhouettes, rendered through synthetic, precise strokes, merely suggest the anatomy of the mount and the upright posture of the rider. There is no intention to individualize the travelers; they function as minimal markers of human scale against the vastness of the setting. Beneath the hooves, the strip of wet sand acts like a broken mirror: reflections fragment into dark dabs and clipped strokes that record the trembling water and the measured rhythm of their gait.

Toward the lower left quadrant, a weave of manual markings evokes fragments of old cursive script, as though a manuscript or a travel log had faded beneath the ocean's tide. This counterpoint between the chance spread of pigment drying on the canvas and the deliberate incision of a fine brush lends the surface the quality of parchment weathered by time. The journey of these four figures thus assumes a timeless resonance, where their passage along the coast seems suspended in an indefinite hour, somewhere between blinding midday and twilight.
