Curatorial analysis

A cascade of vertical striations dominates the upper half of the canvas, suggesting a curtain of water, a wall of weathered rock, or the filtered descent of light through twilight. In taut dialogue with this fluid and diluted backdrop, the lower half erupts into a dense, rhythmic impasto: thousands of textured strokes of white acrylic that coalesce into a field of wild blossoms. The contrast is not merely visual but profoundly tactile, confronting the weightlessness of running pigments with the sculptural volumetry of the petals.

The transition between both zones is articulated through slender, almost calligraphic stems that emerge from the vegetal mass to venture into the void above. These dark filaments interrupt the compact density of the lower ground and instill an upward breathing rhythm, imbuing the surface with an oscillation between detachment and gravity. Subtle touches of yellow ochre, muted greens, and earthy undertones anchor each corolla to the dark soil, preventing the white blanket from dissolving into a flat expanse.

The handling of light constructs an atmosphere that does not rely on direct sources, but rather on the spectral resonance of white set against mineral and ash tones. A quiet tension emerges between the serenity of the nocturnal landscape and the physical energy with which the pigment was laid onto the canvas. The vegetation ceases to be a merely botanical subject, turning instead into an imprint of vital persistence, a luminous and stubborn bloom unfolding before an impenetrable veil of shadow.
