Curatorial analysis

Two confronting profiles guard a stage suspended in the night. On the left, a figure draped in luminous yellows extends the palm of her hand in a gesture of offering or revelation; on the right, clad in emerald green and holding a solemn posture, a second figure restrains her gesture with folded arms. Their headpieces and garments evoke a theatrical or courtly wardrobe, while diminutive birds perch atop their heads like attributes of an enigmatic stillness.

Between both presences lies no conventional landscape, but rather a pageant of visions floating against an indigo blue expanse. In the lower sector, the conical circus tents gather under tiny flags, defined by angular planes that suggest sails or awnings illuminated from within. Just above, sheltered beneath a grayish dome, a vermilion horse on wheels advances with the innocence of an archaic toy, attended by a ghostly silhouette. The composition cancels traditional perspective to operate through layers of memory, where the scale of objects responds to symbolic weight rather than physical distance.

The pictorial surface vibrates through a dense application of oil paint, palpable across the areas of highest saturation. The yellows and turquoises are not flat planes, but fields laden with matter where the pigment forms slight reliefs that capture the light. The cobalt blue of the backdrop dialogues with the deep shadows enveloping the central scene, creating an intimate abyss that accentuates the whiteness of the tents and the glowing red of the equine figure. In this encounter, the circus ceases to be mere spectacle, transforming into a reliquary of childhood evocations held aloft by the silent dialogue of two gazes that never quite meet.
