Curatorial analysis

The granular, vermilion ground supports an open-air theater where circus fantasy and the everyday life of an urban park merge seamlessly. Instead of an enclosed ring, the spectacle invades the communal space: tree trunks whitewashed at their base, an unmistakable hallmark of a Latin American plaza, serve as natural backdrops for a dense choreography of tightrope walkers, stilt performers with pannier skirts, unicyclists, and Sunday strollers.

The tents striped in spirals of sunny yellow and cobalt blue impose a helical rhythm in the upper section, while on the right, the carousel of brightly colored steeds turns in a circular counterpoint. The gaze is organized not through classical perspective, but through a dispersal of simultaneous vignettes that recreate the buzz of a fairground. The eye jumps from suspended figures floating with balloons or balancing on unicycles to the earthly courtship taking place below: a clown offering roses to a voluptuous female figure, a mobile snack cart, or the couple seen from behind wearing a tank top inscribed with 'Pura Vida', anchoring the reverie in an immediate vernacular humor.

The acrylic operates through saturation and subtle optical vibrations. The ground is far from an inert plane; it breathes through coppery glazes and short impastos that suggest dust stirred up by the crowd under twilight illumination. A carnivalesque celebration of the body pervades the scene, alongside a latent strangeness: barely detailed faces, the almost weightless floating of certain figures, and the compact darkness of the tree canopies all remind the viewer that the spectacle is a transient artifice, an ephemeral masquerade pitched atop the park's daily routine.
