Curatorial analysis

A watermelon slice suspended among the branches acts as a crescent moon and immediately establishes the playful code of the scene. Beneath its fiery pulp, the park is no green haven but a vast red carpet, an ardent surface that absorbs and projects the luminosity of a night festival. Across this vibrant ground gathers an ensemble of voluptuous female figures, dressed in swimwear or vaudeville corsetry, occupying the public space with uninhibited self-assurance.

The space is organized through a chorus of simultaneous micro-scenes without a strict hierarchy. To the right, a carousel spins with spirited horses and a garish canopy that seems to spill mechanical music across the promenade; to the left, women seated on a traditional park bench and on a picnic blanket toast with tiny glasses, indifferent to the vertigo of the acrobats balancing on the public furniture. The tree trunks whitewashed at their base, an unmistakable feature of the Latin American town square, introduce rhythmic verticals that guide the eye toward a dappled background of blues, magentas, and purples.

The paint surface vibrates through a dense, textured stippling that breaks the foliage down into a constellation of warm and cool tones, as though fairground bulbs illuminated every leaf. Light does not emanate from a defined natural source, but from the pigment itself and the watermelon crowning the sky. Between custom-painting parody and kitsch lyricism, the scene transforms the everyday ritual of the public park into an erotic and festive farce, where female sensuality claims the night with a vitality as joyful as it is uninhibited.
