Curatorial analysis

A slice of watermelon floats high within the canopy like a vegetal moon, immediately setting the weightless logic of this park. The entire space is drenched in a vibration of dense blues and electric teals, interrupted by the white lime coating the base of the tree trunks, an unmistakable urban trait of the popular landscape. Amid this nocturnal or crepuscular atmosphere, a skater dressed entirely in blue teeters forward on a small board while clutching an exuberant bouquet of flowers. His posture, both comical and devout, serves as the driving axis of a scene where the absurd coexists with the everyday ritual of courtship.

The eye travels across the plane through disjointed encounters arranged without classical hierarchy. To the right, a female figure rides a rocking horse that seems to race into the void; further back, the shaved-ice cart with its red and green syrups and its suspended cluster of balloons evokes the provincial square, transmuted here into a carnival of memories. In the foreground, fragmented bodies frame the action: a pair of legs clad in purple stockings and sharp stilettos, an apple rolled beside a miniature barking dog, and the fleshy profiles of red flowers anchor the scene to the ground, contrasting with the nearly airborne lightness of the remaining characters.

The pictorial matter resolves in impasto brushstrokes and mottled textures that make the chromatic surface seethe. There is not a single quiet plane; the concrete benches, the dense foliage, and the caricatured facial features themselves partake in the same carnivalesque energy. The image does not seek to document a leisurely afternoon, but rather to pin down the theatrical drive of public life, where courtship, childhood memory, and suburban eroticism intersect beneath a sky that invents its own celestial bodies.
