Curatorial analysis

An incandescent cloud of yellow, lilac, and white dots levitates over the twilight, condensing plant matter into pure luminous vibration. In this painting, the foliage does not behave as an opaque botanical mass, but as a suspended constellation radiating from its own core, defying the deep indigo and violet blue background that surrounds it. Slender and vertical, the reddish trunks barely sustain this burst; they function instead as a rhythmic cadence anchoring the phosphorescence to the earth before it dissolves entirely into the air.

The large-scale square format (125 cm on each side) accentuates the feeling of a secluded sanctuary. An irregular perimeter border, worked in mottled rust and vermilion tones, encloses the scene and forms a threshold into nocturnal depth. Beneath the grove, a horizontal teal-blue band introduces a clean geometric tension: across it, yellow flecks fall or reverberate, suggesting a water mirror or fertile ground where the canopy's light finds a settled echo. This horizontal plane balances the verticality of the trunks and the expansive curve of the treetops.

The surface breathes through a meticulous technique of splattering and stippling. Rather than seeking traditional volume modeling, the acrylic medium opts for the optical layering of glazes and dense spatters. Around the tree cluster, the background is no static flat plane, but a turbulent atmosphere charged with stains and gradations of blue and purple that evoke dampness, wind, or botanical dusk.

The landscape avoids topographical transcription to settle within the realm of memory or botanical reverie. Rather than recording a specific forest, the image captures the precise moment in which trees become visual revelation, a silent phenomenon where nocturnal nature turns into pure energy, suspended forever in pictorial space.
