Curatorial analysis

A fissure of turquoise light cuts through the darkness horizontally and commands the gaze: it is the gleam of water pulsing in the background, held back by a lush thicket that appears to burn and dissolve at the same time. Across this panoramic format, the eye does not travel through a static landscape, but rather across a vibrant vegetal threshold where night and fluorescence coexist with the intensity of a botanical dream.

The structure rests upon an absolute thermal contrast. Along the lower band and side flanks, a dense constellation of ochres, vermilions, and solar yellows bursts in minute splatters and sponged impastos, evoking incandescent foliage or scrubland in radiant combustion. Above, by contrast, the matter retreats into ultramarine blues, indigos, and shadowy greens that grant the upper register a cosmic or subaquatic gravity. Slender, threadlike linear traces climb like ghostly stems or vines, weaving a web that holds back depth and forces the viewer to look through the tangle.

The use of epoxy acrylic completely redefines the behavior of the surface. The resin provides a crystalline gloss and an optical illusion of stratification in which pigments float suspended at varying depths, as though the scene were preserved beneath a sheet of amber or still water. This vitreous quality amplifies the internal luminescence of the central turquoise, transforming it into a magnetic focal point that absorbs the perspective.

The lake named in the title is not presented explicitly; it is sensed as a mystery veiled behind a wild threshold. Suspended between material abstraction and landscape suggestion, the surface evokes the experience of making one's way through tropical twilight, when the senses confuse the phosphorescence of the earth with the serene reflection of distant waters.
