Curatorial analysis

A botanical and mnemonic wall unfolds across a rigorous orthogonal grid where each fragment asserts a life of its own. Constructed from dozens of wooden blocks varying in thickness, planes, and textures, the surface refuses to remain strictly two-dimensional, functioning instead as a tactile low relief. The projections and recesses cast tiny shadows that disrupt the geometric rigidity of the ensemble, transforming the frontal plane into a living tapestry responsive to the slightest shift in ambient light.

Despite being titled The Yellow Tree, the chromatic experience is governed by an almost total immersion in green: emerald, lime, moss, jade, and mint tones unify the encyclopedic dispersion of the imagery. Amid this lush and chromatic density, dissident flashes emerge with calculated tact. Near the exact center, a luminous orange fruit operates as a gravitational anchor; lower down, a small portrait in pure cobalt blue defies the hegemony of the foliage, while sporadic notes of violet and turquoise energize the visual rhythm.

This modular accumulation blends disparate iconographic motifs without any obvious hierarchy. Vigilant eyes, alchemical solar engravings, the silhouette of the Eiffel Tower, the Hand of Fatima, neoclassical busts, fleeting animals, and the exposed grain of the wood itself coexist as if in a contemporary cabinet of curiosities. The viewer's gaze discovers no single linear path, navigating instead a continuous pulse between macro and micro, shifting from the panoramic overview of the grid to the intimate detail of an individual graphic vignette.

The tree invoked by the title seems to reside less in a conventional botanical representation than in the foundational logic of the assemblage itself. It is a structure that grows through the gradual accretion of branches, leaves, and layered cultural memories, turning the wooden matter into the archive of a visual unconscious where nature and human artifact merge into a single bark.
