Curatorial analysis

A vegetal wall denies the traditional green of the tropics to surrender entirely to a golden vibration. On this generous horizontal canvas, the dense foliage of heliconias and lanceolate leaves sheds its natural chlorophyll, transmuting into a tide of ochres, ivories, and toasted earths. Above this warm mantle, an emphatic cobalt blue field does not operate as a mere landscape background, but rather as a tactile, enveloping presence that compresses the space and pushes the vegetation into the foreground.

The construction rests upon a tight rhythm of ascending diagonals. The leaves curve, intersect, and fan out, while the sharp inflorescences launch vertical thrusts that break the horizontal orientation of the canvas. This layering of planes generates a contained depth, a sculptural relief where light does not seem to strike from an external source, but rather radiates from the matter itself. The brushstrokes faithfully trace the venation of each plant element, modeling volumes through glazes and luminous impastos that contrast against the reddish-brown shadows of the undergrowth.

The upper blue, applied with subtle vertical modulation, acts as an absolute thermal counterpoint. Facing the solar, almost mineral warmth of the leaves, that monochromatic field imposes a dense, nearly nocturnal silence. In bearing the title of spring, the composition subverts conventional expectations of fertility and sprouting; it suggests a rebirth measured in pulses of light rather than seasonal botanical cycles. The vegetation ceases to belong to a specific geography, becoming instead a meditation on the raw confrontation between temperature, texture, and contour.
