Curatorial analysis

The surface acts first as a dark mirror and then as a threshold. In this female torso, the resin does not behave like a solid block that deflects the gaze, but rather like a deep, vitreous substance that invites one to peer through it. At first glance, the volume asserts itself with the decisive weight of polished obsidian, but upon closer inspection, amber suspensions, smoky veining, and coppery glints emerge trapped within its interior, as though the anatomy held a mineral stratum or a biological fluid petrified mid-motion.

The treatment of the body engages directly with the tradition of the classical fragment, deliberately dispensing with the head and limbs to concentrate the entire expressive weight on the cadence of the trunk. A rigorous contrapposto articulates the sculpture's axis: the hip thrusts outward in a sinuous, voluptuous curve, while the stumps of the shoulders turn in a slight opposing torsion. This oscillation generates an elastic tension wherein the physical weight of over a meter in height seems to lose gravity. The rhythm of the taut breasts, the gentle concavity of the belly, and the slanted cut of the neck compose a silhouette that moves steadily between anatomical containment and pure linearity.

Under the incidence of ambient light, this duality between anatomical firmness and material fluidity reaches its apex. Specular highlights glide across the polished edges, defining the precision of the muscular planes while casting back the surrounding space distorted against the black skin. The title introduces an affectionate, corporeal intimacy that transforms the coldness of the synthetic polymer into eloquent flesh. There is no simplification of the human figure here, but rather a devoted celebration of curve and volume, consecrating the gloom of the resin as a fertile territory where light does not simply rebound, but remains captive.
