Curatorial analysis

A red curve, suspended in the upper left corner, exerts its gravity over a nocturnal landscape that rejects stillness. This is no distant satellite casting a reserved glow, but a fleshy, almost tactile celestial body whose vibrancy tints the contours of a rising tide of undulating forms with vermilion. Beside it, a strict lavender rectangular slice fractures the dark background, establishing from the outset that this pictorial space operates under purely plastic rather than naturalistic laws.

The rest of the canvas surges with a rhythmic interplay of spirals, crests, and volutes. Masses of violet and lilac behave ambivalently: they can be read as storm-swollen clouds or as foaming breakers advancing in successive layers. Strips of vivid yellow and vermilion trace these purple bodies, serving as luminous sinews that heighten the tension between the figures and the deep black backdrop. The painting thus unfurls like an aerial surge, where gravity dissolves into uninterrupted arabesques.

Toward the lower right quadrant, the turbulence shifts into something more intimate and intricate. There, small stylized fish appear swimming among concentric ripples and bubbles, revealing that the cosmic and the abyssal inhabit the same plane without apparent hierarchy. The treatment of the surface, achieved through flat, uniform areas of color bounded by crisp linear edges, reinforces a graphic vocabulary akin to ornamental reverie and lyrical poster design.

The piece holds its power precisely along that fluid boundary between sky and ocean depths. The eye traverses the canvas impelled by the whorls and vivid crests, searching in vain for a resting horizon, ultimately yielding to the hypnotic sway of an aquatic and astral universe laid bare under the moon's vigil.
