Curatorial analysis

A playful, dancing architecture takes absolute command of the plane: the structures do not settle upon the ground, but rather sprout with the vitality of living beings. The reference to the emblematic neoclassical pavilion transmutes into a floating totem, crowned by columns and a vibrant dome presiding over an assembly of animate towers. Around it, cones, spires, and fluted shafts lean toward one another in a festive choreography, defying any law of gravity or structural rigor.

Space is fractured through sharp contours and dark outlines that delineate mosaics of pure color. A frenetic rhythm of harlequin diamonds, radiating stripes, and optical patterns recalls ceremonial or carnival attire. Carlos Tapia foregoes traditional perspective in favor of an almost theatrical flatness, where the sky-blue background acts as a clean backdrop that pushes all chromatic matter toward the viewer. Intense magentas, solar yellows, emerald greens, and violets do not compete; they amplify each other through calculated contrasts and an even illumination that dispenses with dramatic shadows.

Near the upper left crest, a vigilant eye open to infinity interrupts the architectural character, introducing an undeniable oneiric dimension. This element bestows an autonomous consciousness upon the structures, transforming the urban landscape into a reverie where the music implied by the title seems to dictate the undulations, expansions, and syncopations of every volume. The monumentality of the format (120 × 144 cm) amplifies this sense of immersion, enveloping the gaze in a delirious metropolis that celebrates visual joy, formal fantasy, and the poetic reinterpretation of a civic landmark.
