Curatorial analysis

An interior window, laden with earthy glazes and stage shadows, suspends the gaze in that threshold moment before a performance when everything is about to begin. The title does not hide; it appears inscribed over and over like an insistent murmur, shifting from the sharp white pigment that illuminates the plane to the faint graphite fading into the lower margin. This calligraphic repetition turns the paper into a rehearsal of echoes, a countdown seeking to capture the exact instant when the hall falls silent.

The manual intervention upon the giclée dismantles the strict confines of graphic reproduction. A trail of wine-red droplets breaks away from the upper left corner in an ascending spiral, as though the scene's own pulse were bursting beyond the frame. Right at the origin of that flight, the word paix emerges fashioned in a tactile, golden relief, confronting the watery delicacy of the background with the dense brilliance of metal. At the base of the square, a linear structure drawn in white (poised halfway between a technician's ladder and scaffolding) bridges the border of the image and descends onto the virgin paper, breaking the illusion of containment.

Rojas orchestrates the space through a theatrical atmosphere where the concave architecture hints at empty balconies or a shadowed dome. Earthy browns, ochres, and muted grays shape an almost cavernous depth subtly pierced by light. There are neither actors nor overt drama, only the contained vibration of anticipation. The piece operates as a sensitive threshold: between the dissolving text and the escaping splatter, it captures the instant when everyday time halts to yield to theatrical fiction.
