Curatorial analysis

The void does not operate here as a neutral surface, but rather as an active pressure field that sustains two opposing densities. Instead of yielding to conventional gravity, the material weight is concentrated in the upper half of the canvas through three horizontal bars of deep indigo blue, approaching charcoal. Each stripe possesses its own tactile breath: the lowest, broad and resolute, carries a wet wash that reveals the weave of the canvas and culminates at its right edge in the dry rub of pigment; the central one condenses a compact mass with light-absorbing edges; the uppermost thins out until reduced to a minimal, barely hinted stroke.

This decreasing upward superposition inverts customary constructive logic, compelling the gaze to experience a hovering mass devoid of visible anchors. The broad white interstice that follows does not empty the painting; instead, it tightens the distance with magnetic force, accumulating a deliberate pause before offering any graphic response.

Near the lower edge emerges a rhythmic sequence of eight small vertical marks. Here, color suddenly awakens, alternating notes of earthy ochre, subtle yellow flashes, and incisions of broken crimson, rendered with the immediacy of a marginal notation or runic calligraphy. In contrast to the emphatic, nocturnal horizontality of the upper blocks, these signs propose a fragile, discontinuous, and airborne cadence. They do not act as columns supporting the weight hovering above; they are, rather, a discreet vibration that measures the scale of the surrounding silence.

Regomir transforms an extreme economy of means into a rigorous meditation on interval and visual equilibrium. The title, evocative of a specific geography or territorial memory, is stripped of anecdote and distilled into pure plastic presence, a space where minimal gesture suffices to reorder the gravity of the canvas.
