Curatorial analysis

A centripetal, chromatic force dominates the canvas from the very first visual encounter. The arch that gives the piece its title, a twisted mass of dark, stony bark, functions not merely as a botanical or geographical accident, but as a luminous threshold dividing space into two sensory realms. To the right, the trunk emerges rooted upon a promontory of coral and vermilion tones, its pictorial paste distributed in swirling sweeps that provide an almost muscular footing for the torsion of the bough.

The bridge bows in a pronounced foreshortening toward the left margin, carving out beneath its curve an expanse of vibrant, luminous yellow. This opening acts as an autonomous light source, an active void against which the dense, knotty matter of wood or stone is silhouetted. Encircling it, the canopy erupts in a fiery clash between intense greens and masses of burning vermilion and orange, applied through brief, energetic impastos that evoke an ongoing vegetal combustion.

Such boldness in palette dismantles any mimetic pursuit, anchoring the scene firmly in the realm of telluric experience. The lower plane, flooded with an expanse of pure green that can be read as still water or flat meadowland, introduces a horizontal quietude that supports the chromatic overflow of the upper sectors. A constant tension persists between the gravitational pull of the dark arch and the volcanic lightness of the colors crowning and surrounding it.

Within this dialogue between geology and botany, the geological formation takes on organic qualities, while the foliage seems to melt into mineral flames. The scene suspends descriptive logic to present a vision where topography transfigures into thermal pulse and material weight.
