Carlos Tapia reconfigures the iconic silhouette of the Chirripó Crestones, stripping away any documentary solemnity: the monoliths do not rise as cold, gray giants, but as incandescent towers modulating carmine, orange, and pure yellow hues, bounded by dark, violaceous contours that heighten their sculptural volume.

The pictorial space is organized through a strong stratification of planes that defies traditional depth. At the base, a dense mass of vegetation rendered with circular dabs and swirling touches of forest and emerald green anchors the lower third. From this plant mantle, the crests surge with vertical force, their faceted structure evoking crystalline formations or almost fleshy, organic segments. As a thermal counterpoint, the sky does not act as a passive backdrop; it is built through direct, vertical, and dynamic brushstrokes in cobalt blue and white that pour over the ridge like a striated downpour of light.
