Curatorial analysis
A pyriform silhouette levitates in absolute suspension against an impenetrable black background. There is no table, bowl, cast shadow, or stem anchoring the fruit to a biological origin; stripped of any ambient anecdote, the figure stands as an iconic presence defying the conventions of the traditional still life. In its core burns a bright, almost radioactive lime green, whose luminous pulse appears to emanate from the depths of the support rather than relying on an external light source.
As the eye travels from the center toward the contours, that nuclear saturation gradually softens until dissolving into a silvery, milky halo. The perimeter is delineated with surgical precision against the enveloping darkness, yet the interior chromatic transition remains fluid and atmospheric. Across the sheet of plexiglass, the surface reveals a finely hammered or granular texture, akin to cathedral glass or skin crystallized by frost. This microscopic roughness catches the ambient light and breaks it into countless glistening points, endowing the volume with an optical vibration that contrasts with the hermetic stillness of the background.
The use of industrial acrylic transforms what might otherwise be a simple vegetal stylization into an artifact of an uncanny nature. There is an aspect of an X-ray or a luminescent screen in this suspended body: the fruit sheds its perishable vocation, the earthly weight of gravity, and the promise of flavor, becoming instead a vessel of pure energy. In this dialogue between the organic warmth of its morphology and the technical coolness of the materials, the piece redefines the contemplation of the ordinary object, freezing it in a moment of luminous revelation where geometric simplicity and perceptive enigma become inseparable.
