Curatorial analysis

A crescent moon hangs so low that it seems like a fruit within reach of the hands, orchestrating a nocturnal delirium in which the public park mutates into the setting of a Bacchic fable. Two women of round, monumental anatomy clamber onto a park bench to support or unhook the celestial crescent, surrounded by miniature winged beings who scamper naked, climb a wooden ladder, or twirl in mischievous circles. High on the left, perched amidst the foliage, a winged blue demon with golden horns watches the spectacle with a complicit expression, establishing an atmosphere of mythological carnival where gravity, decorum, and wakefulness have been abolished.

The eye traverses the space guided by two crucial presences placed in the foreground, framing the central commotion. Toward the left, the voluminous, dark coiffure of a figure seen from behind places the viewer in the position of a clandestine witness. On the opposite side, another woman reclines in sensual abandon across a green bench with arched backrests, stripped of clothing except for high dark boots, beside a still life set out on a low tray with bread, grapes, and bottles. This display of worldly sustenance, alongside the warm ochre passages of the grass and trees, counterbalances the cool tones and reinforces the celebratory nature of the gathering.

Across the canvas, the acrylic is handled through textural marks and glazes that make the foliage vibrate in the gloom. Cobalt blues, turquoises, and bottle greens enfold the generous flesh of the figures, illuminated by warm flecks of sienna and yellow that answer not to an exterior light source, but to the chromatic energy of the bodies themselves. Untethered from traditional solemnity, the space stands as an apotheosis of playful sensuality and defiance: the civic square is transfigured by free desire, the comic mischief of the cherubs, and the irrepressible urge to pluck the sky down by hand.
